Defensive Driving Courses

BASIC (6 hour) and REFRESHER (3 hour) CLASSROOM DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSES

Why take a Defensive Driving Course? In addition to learning life saving defensive driving strategies and tips, all participants are eligible to receive:

• A reduction on the liability portion of their automobile insurance policy for a three year period.
• A 3 point credit added to all Delaware licensed drivers motor vehicle records.
• Offered at many convenient locations throughout the State at times convenient for you and your family.

BEHIND THE WHEEL DRIVER EVALUATIONS

The Delaware Safety Council also offers its personalized behind the wheel Driver Evaluation Program. Using their own auto, drivers are taken on a check ride with a certified Safety Council Defensive Driving instructor along. At the end of the ride, the driver is given a written and verbal evaluation of their driving habits.

Major corporations in Delaware use this program for their fleet drivers, because Motor Vehicle Crashes are the #1 cause of on-the-job fatalities in the United States.
